7 Days Gorilla and Murchison falls

The 7 Days Uganda Safari is an all-inclusive 1 week Uganda Safari that offers a Gorilla trekking and Wildlife tour. 7 Days Uganda Safari takes to Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, & Murchison falls national park. 7 Days Uganda Safari is a Primates & Wildlife Long Uganda Safari that takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Queen Elizabeth, chimpanzee trekking in kibale national park and Murchison falls national park

Day 1: pick up from the hotel and transfer to bwindi impenetrable

Our driver will pick you up from the airport and take you for meals according to the time of your arrival to one of the hotels in Kampala. You will then leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park which is known as a great home for gorillas.   A brief stop at the Equator allows time for photographs and refreshments as well a visit to the craft shops.

The journey affords views from the vehicle of the long horned Ankole cattle, in Mbarara, the rolling hills, terraced landscapes and the beautiful panorama of Kabale. We have a lunch break en route in Mbarara. Then Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable park and arrive in the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and transfer to queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up early have your breakfast and the driver will pick you up for a thrilling experience of gorilla tracking and trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest. You will be taken to the headquarters where will you be briefed and given instructions on how it’s done. Time taken to track the mountain gorilla is a minimum of 2 hrs. and a maximum of 7hrs. On finding them, you will be given the most exciting and emotional moment with them. For conservation purposes in most cases you will be given 1 hr. to enjoy them. You will then go back for your lunch and after go for village walks along the ridge top roads which provides a fantastic view north and virunga volcanoes in the south.   And transfer queen Elizabeth National park

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up early for breakfast and then go for an early morning game drive encounter different mammals like: herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lion, leopard, hyenas etc. Sight different species of birds. Over 500 species have been identified here making it a paradise for bird –watchers some of these birds include Black-bee eater, 11 different species of Kingfisher, several falcons, eagles and raptors. Get back to your hotel for lunch and relax as you wait for the afternoon activity.

In the afternoon you will drive to kibale national park reaching late evening checking into the booked lodge

Day 4: chimpanzee trekking in the morning and after bigodi swamp

On this day you have the option of participating in a full-day of learning the lifestyle of the chimpanzees (a process called habituation), or simply learn the highlights of their lifestyle through trekking them and seeing their daily life-preview.

Option one: Chimps Habituation:

You may choose to learn the life style of chimpanzees (the closest relatives to humans) for a full day (a process called habituation). While walking through the forest, the guide will educate you on the various flora and fauna found in the park. You will also witness how the chimps de-nest their nocturnal nest (something they do each morning), feed, groom the young, play and construct new nest in the evening etc.

The park supports the highest concentration of primates in the world: there are 13 species, including Black-and-White Colobus, Red colobus, L’Hoests monkeys, baboons, Bush baby and abundant chimpanzees. While over 325 avian species are recorded in Kibale there are also 144 species of butterflies and moths to be found here. We suggest a packed lunch as this might be very engaging and long.

Option Two: Chimps Trekking

After an early breakfast you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and many others.
Afternoon Activity shall depend on the chosen activity (between the above as each require different level of time commitment). In case you choose the option of Chimpanzee trekking, then after lunch we will take you for a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

The sanctuary offers great birding opportunities and nature walks. Besides birding, Bigodi village has a rich cultural heritage site where you can mix with the local people and enjoy the African traditions in terms of lifestyle and entertainment. Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 5: transfer Murchison falls national park

Pick up from your hotel at 6.30am after breakfast, followed by a drive to Murchison Falls NP passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands; straight to the park, and then to the accommodation facility of your choice.  You will then relax and have your lunch then take the rest of the day at leisure and top of falls

Day 6:      game drive and launch cruise (explore murchison falls national park)

Wake up early with a snack and set off on a Sunrise game drive (about 6.30am) in the Nyamsika plateau, while on the game drives,  cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs,hartebeest  and water buck are commonly seen. You may also spot Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reed buck, Shy Sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pig plus carnivores including lions, leopards, and spotted hyena.

Chimpanzee and olive baboons head the list of six primates’ found in the park. And crocodiles and hippos will be seen along banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, bee -eaters, kingfishers, saddle billed stork, cormorant, hornbill, and the rare shoe bile stork

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and there after you will relax. After lunch, proceed for the boat trip on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En –route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and wide variety of birds like unusual shoe bile stork.

The boat stops just ten metres from the “Devil’s cauldron”. From here you will disembark and take a hike to the top of the falls where your vehicle will be waiting for you for pick up. This is an awesome experience, as you will experience the majestic Murchison falls forming into impressive rainbow. You will great to take opportunity for pictures. There after we shall return to your accommodation facility for dinner and overnight stay

DAY 7: Murchison falls en-route ziwa rhino sanctuary or chimpanzee in budongo forest

You will wake up with relaxed breakfast and check out of the lodge as you meet your guide for the drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for tracking of rhinos. Depending on the chosen activity you will drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route to either Ziwa or any place chosen for lunch reaching Kampala by evening

You will be transfer to selected accommodation facility in either Kampala or Entebbe
