The beautiful town of Entebbe, located about 44km south of Kampala, is situated near Lake Victoria, the largest fresh water lake in Uganda. Most of the town of Entebbe is covered in greenery and has several buildings, a market, and an international airport. Currently (2023), travelers coming to Uganda for the first time will pass through out, as Uganda’s only international airport is located here. Bird watching at Mabamba Swamp

Mabamba Swamp is famous for being home to the rare civet in Uganda. It is located west of Entebbe town and is accessible by speed boat from one of the landing sites. Shoebills are known to inhabit wetlands and its always spotted during birding tours in Mabamba Swamp. Especially in the morning hours, bird watching can be enjoyed while riding in a canoe.You can also take aboat ride from Lake Victoria to the Mabamba Swamp to find many other species of birds.

If you are looking for a place to get up close and personal with wildlife in Uganda,look no further than the Uganda Wildlife Education Center in Entebbe .Located on the shores of Lake Victoria,m this zoo offers a fun way to learn about wildlife.You can see leopards,lions,crocodiles,giraffes, baboons,and much more.

A”behind-the-scenes”experience at the zoo allows visitors to get up close and personal with the animals with the help of a guide. It is also an opportunity to learn how the animals live, eat, play,and talk. Boat cruises on Lake Victoria and relaxation on the beach

While in Entebbe, you can take a speed boat across Lake Victoria to nearby islands such as Sese Island, Bugala Island, and Bubuma Island. On any of these islands, you will find hotels and resorts where you can relax. The north shore of Lake Victoria, near Entebbe,has a number of beaches where visitors find quality time to relax too.Some of the common ones include Spennah, Lido, Aero, Gaba, white sand plus many more. The Botanical Gardens of Entebbe are located very close to the airport. The Botanical Gardens of Entebbe are the closest to the airport for relaxation, camping, and other activities. Established in 1898, the garden is divided into various zones, including a rain forest zone. The garden also offers bird watching. The main birds seen here include the Northern Brown Floated Weaver, Yellow-backed Weaver, Golden-backed Weaver, and Red-chested Sun bird.

Full-day tour of the Uganda Reptile Village

There is a full-day tour to the Reptile Village in Entebbe , which is home to over 20species of reptiles. The village is home to more than 20 species of reptiles,including cobras, boom slangs, skinks, monitor lizards,turtles,and Africa’s most venomous snake,the brown tree snake.It is located near Abaita Ababili, a 40-minute drive from the town of Entebbe and 4km from the highway. The reptile village has a special mesh surrounding a tree for 5 chameleons, a large pool for 1 crocodile and 2 monitor lizards, and an open trench for several turtles.
